NHL DFS for February 12: Best DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy hockey picks

Before you enter a daily fantasy hockey tournament for NHL action on Monday, February 12, you need to hear what professional DFS player Mike McClure has to say. McClure has more than $1 million in career DFS winnings and is off to a red-hot start this season, already cashing multiple tournament and cash game rosters.

He has been able to do all that thanks to some spot-on picks.

On Saturday, McClure locked in Toronto Maple Leafs center Nazem Kadri for $5,600 on FanDuel and $5,400 on DraftKings. The result: Kadri blasted six shots on net, scored a goal and notched an assist — returning just under 30 points on FanDuel.

Anybody who had him in their lineup was well on their way to a winning NHL DFS night.

Now McClure has exhaustively studied matchups, injuries, and projected lineups for Monday night and locked in his optimal NHL DFS lineups. He’s sharing them over at SportsLine.

One player McClure absolutely loves: Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly, who is $4,500 on FanDuel and $5,000 on DraftKings.

Since coming off injured reserve earlier this month, he has nine shots on goal and a pair of points in his last four games. He scored 14.4 points on FanDuel in his last outing, so look for more big production on Monday as Toronto takes on Tampa Bay in a battle of two of the highest-scoring teams in the league.

If you roster Rielly, you’ll have plenty of room to stack him with teammate Auston Matthews, who is $8,000 on FanDuel and $7,000 on DraftKings.

Matthews, one of the league’s top up-and-coming players, has a combined 11 shots and five points in his last three games.

He’s just a few games removed from putting up 41.6 points on FanDuel against the Ducks, so he has an extremely high ceiling in a game that easily could be the highest-scoring of Monday’s slate. Lock him in as one of the top overall plays.

McClure is also targeting another player who recently went for over 70 points on FanDuel and very well could do it again on Monday against one of the worst defenses in the NHL. Picks like these could be the difference between winning your cash games and tournaments or going home with nothing
