The home of Antonio Gates was robbed last weekend while his wife and kids were inside, the Chargers tight end confirmed Thursday.
Gates, who lives in the San Fernando Valley, said the suspects stole some jewelry and they took a garbage bag full of items from his garage.
“All that stuff didn’t really didn’t matter to me, to be honest with you,” Gates said, via ESPN. “I was just so concerned with my kids.”
The suspects didn’t make any contact with Gates’ wife, Sasha, and two children as they were upstairs when the two robbers broke into the garage. Gates said no one was hurt and police are searching for the suspects involved in the burglary.
The incident happened when the 38-year-old Gates was in Pittsburgh last Sunday, facing the Steelers in Week 13. The Chargers went on to win the game, 33-30.
